Mark V. Mishra, MD

Dr. Mishra is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the management of patients with central nervous system and genitourinary tumors.

Dr. Mishra is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. He completed his transitional year internship at the Evanston Northwestern Hospital of the MgGaw Medical Medical Center. Dr. Mishra then completed his residency training in Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University, where he also served as Chief Resident from 2012-2013.

Dr. Mishra’s post-graduate training has included a year-long research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health where he participated in the Clinical Research Training Program. He also completed the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard  T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2013.

In his role as Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland, Dr. Mishra also serves as the Director of Radiation Oncology Clinical Research. He is also the Institutional Voting Member Principal Investigator for NRG Oncology Cooperative Group.

Dr. Mishra’s research focus at the University of Maryland has centered upon comparative and cost-effectiveness research. He has published over forty peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He also reviewed research funding from the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the Keep Punching Foundation.

Outside of the University of Maryland, Dr. Mishra is an active member of the ASTRO and the American College of Radiology. He is also a member of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Patient Engagement Advisory Panel.
